There are some songs that you can correlate with programming. Something in them, may be the music or lyrics or visuals subtly touches programming parts of our brains, just like the hot sun that makes us feel like a kid on the playground or the smell of rain that brings back some memories. Here's my list and comment yours.
1. It's a kind of magic by Queen
It makes me feel like a program getting executed. Freddie Mercury is the executing thread that brings everything like local variables, instances and references to life and once he leaves everything goes down to their previous states.
2. I gotta hate her by Bruno Mars
The music oddly reminds of recursive functions while we debug them.
3. Paranoid Android by Radiohead
The song's music and visuals can be correlated with some nested recurring patterns where we concentrate on the inner recursions and finally the grand recursion dawns in the back of our mind!
4. Hysteria by Def Leppard
The song's lyrics reminds me of the early days of learning programming. Lonely nights and the mystery of the code and the hysteria it gives... Also the song's era and style takes you closer to the days of pre-internet computers.
5. Kashmir by Led Zeppelin
This song's music and theme reflects the feeling we get when we encounter a large scale application/system built in a language or technology we are not familiar with, yet we can understand their characters by intuition and see the patterns in them that are so familiar.
